Winter Vacation Destinations

Winter Vacation Destinations

When it comes to the holiday season, it’s a time of great joy. We often think of the beautiful snow, the quiet nights, the joyous music in every department store, the Christmas movies and TV specials, etc. And, then there’s the main event, regardless of which event that is for you. Yes, even you, Festivus. (For the rest of us!) However, it can also be a stressful time. It can present great pressure to find the perfect gifts for your loved ones, and the beautiful falling snow can prevent a driving hazard, just to name a few. Therefore, the Winter season might be the most wonderful time of the year, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t need a break. My recommendation, make a reservation with Hotels.com and take a Winter vacation.

For your Winter vacation, you have a couple of different options as to your destination. For starters, there’s always the way of the birds, to fly south for the Winter. It never did make sense to me to go to a tropical destination when it’s already hot in your area, but going to a tropical destination to escape the ravages of the dead of Winter is a great way to come out of the cold. Why not take a beach vacation in the days leading up to Christmas, or to ring in the New Year? Think of it. On the one hand you have the warm air, the clear skies, the sand, the surf. On the other, you have the cold and the bleak. It’s the perfect escape.

Another option is to lean into the season, much like we do in Summer, and just go skiing. Skiing is a favored pastime for many, and there’s no better time than when there’s already inescapable snow on the ground. So, why not go to ski lodge and have the perfect blend of toasty and cozy interiors and cold, snowy exteriors perfect for skiing, snowboarding, and sledding?
